Projecte Boscos de Muntanya 2023 (Massís De L’Orri)

During August 2023, I had the opportunity to share a week with some other people in the Catalonian Pyrenees for the Bergwald Project. Together, we worked on forest management tasks and slept in tents under the clearest sky. This particular region of the Pyrenees was once very looked after and had a stable ecosystem. Since people migrated to the cities during the last century, land and forests stopped being properly managed and many species are now in danger of extinction. The Berwald Project aim to find this needed balance between forest management and natural ecosystem for these species to survive.
